REELFOOT RURAL MINISTRIES NEAR ELBRIDGE IS GETTING READY FOR ITS 2016 CHRISTMAS TOY STORE AND IS NOW LOOKING FOR PRAYER, AS WELL AS DONATIONS OF TOYS, MONEY AND VOLUNTEER TIME.   REELFOOT RURAL MINISTRIES ALLOWS PARENTS FROM LOW-INCOME FAMILIES TO SHOP FOR INEXPENSIVE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR THEIR KIDS. THE STORE WILL RUN DECEMBER 5TH THROUGH THE 8TH.   TOY DONATIONS ARE NEEDED BY NOON, DECEMBER 3RD.    CALL REELFOOT RURAL MINISTRIES AT 538-9970 OR GO ON LINE FOR A LIST OF SUGGESTED TOYS AND HOW YOU CAN DONATE.  12/3.

 

THE LEE ACADEMY FOR THE ARTS IN PARIS WILL HOLD ITS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR FROM 9 TILL 4 ON SATURDAY.   SEVERAL VENDORS WITH HOMEMADE CRAFTS WILL BE THERE.  MUSICAL PERFORMANCES WILL BE PRESENTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY AS WELL.   12/3

 

THE PARIS HENRY COUNTY JAYCEES PRESENT “JAMMIN’ 4 THE KIDS” AT THE PARIS MOOSE LODGE ON SATURDAY BEGINNING AT 7PM.   IT’S $10 AND FEATURES ENTERTAINMENT BY VINCE DODD…THE DRUNKEN POETS…RISKY BUSINESS/ FOUR PLAY AND THE OLD SPIRITS.  THEY ALSO HAVE A 50/50 DRAWING AND AUCTION WITH ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO BENEFIT THE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING TOUR.   IT’S A FUN NIGHT TO RAISE MONEY FOR SOME VERY DESERVING KIDS.  12/3

 

THE JUNIOR AUXILIARY OF OBION COUNTY HAS BEGUN ITS ANNUAL “COATS FOR KIDS” DRIVE.   THEY’RE ACCEPTING DONATIONS OF NEW OR SLIGHTLY USED COATS AND JACKETS TO BE GIVEN TO KIDS IN NEED THROUGHOUT OBION COUNTY.   DONATE COATS AT KIZER PHARMACY… CENTER STAGE DANCE STUDIO…AND AT BAPTIST REHABILITATION NEXT TO E. W. JAMES IN UNION CITY.   COATS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH DECEMBER 2ND.    12/2

 

LEGENDARY SINGER-SONGWRITER RONNIE MILSAP…WHO HAS HAD 40 NUMBER ONE HITS AND SIX GRAMMY AWARDS OVER HIS LIFETIME..WILL PERFORM ON SATURDAY NIGHT AT 7:30 AT THE DIXIE IN HUNTINGDON.   RONNIE MILSAP IS ALSO A 40 YEAR MEMBER OF THE GRAND OLD OPRY.   TICKETS ARE $45.   CONTACT THE DIXIE BOX OFFICE OR GO TO www.dixiepac.net    12/3

 

THE PARIS/HENRY COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL WILL HOST ITS 49TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CONCERT ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 3 AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH IN PARIS.   THE CONCERT IS CALLED “CHRISTMAS PRAISE” AND IS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF LONG-TIME PARIS PIANO TEACHER PEGGY WILLIAMS.      12/4 

 

 

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW FOR BETHEL UNIVERSITY’S “CHRISTMAS WITH RENAISSANCE”, AN ANNUAL CELEBRATION THAT SHOWCASES ALL ASPECTS OF THE RENAISSANCE PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM.      SHOWS  ARE FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2; SATURDAY DECEMBER 3 AT 2PM & 7PM AND SUNDAY, THE 4TH AT 2PM.  ALL PERFORMANCES ARE IN THE DICKEY FINE ARTS BUILDING ON CAMPUS IN MCKENZIE AND ALL ARE EXPECTED TO BE SELLOUTS.  GET YOUR TICKETS BY CALLING THE RENAISSANCE OFFICE OR E-MAIL renaissance@bethelu.edu.

 

SANTA WILL BE IN HIS HOUSE ON THE COURT SQUARE IN DOWNTOWN PARIS FROM 10 TILL 2 EACH SATURDAY AND FROM 2 TILL 4 ON SUNDAYS THROUGH THE 18TH OF DECEMBER.   BRING THE KIDS TO SEE SANTA CLAUS IN DOWNTOWN PARIS.  12/18     

 

DIVERSICARE OF MARTIN HEALTHCARE AND REHABILITATION IS SPONSORING A BLANKET DRIVE TO HELP BRING WARMTH TO FAMILIES IN NEED THIS WINTER.   BRING NEW OR GENTLY USED BLANKETS TO THE DIVERSICARE OFFICE AT 158 MT. PELIA ROAD IN MARTIN…OR TO THE CARL PERKINS CENTER AT 111 OXFORD STREET…OR TO GATEWAY SENIOR CENTER AT 711 NORTH LINDELL.   COLLECTIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH DECEMBER 19TH.    12/19

 

THE HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REMINDS ALL DEER HUNTERS OF ITS DEPUTIES FOR THE HUNGRY PROGRAM.   YOU CAN DONATE YOUR DEER TO THE DEPARTMENT WHERE THEY WILL BE PROCESSED AND PACKAGED BY INMATES TO GIVE AWAY AFTER THE SEASON.    PLEASE FIELD DRESS YOUR DEER BEFORE YOU DROP THEM OFF AT THE OFFICE.   EVERYTIME YOU DONATE A DEER…YOUR NAME WILL GO INTO A DRAWING FOR A DEER RIFLE OR MUZZLE LOADER DONATED BY KREG KYLE, COUNTY COMMISSIONER AND JAMIE ORR, FINANCIAL ADVISOR.

 

THE SECOND ANNUAL “LET IT GLOW LIGHT SHOW” WILL BE OPEN NIGHTLY DURING DECEMBER AT DISCOVERY PARK OF AMERICA.   THIS YEAR’S SHOW FEATUES OVER 500,000 LIGHTS AND IS SPONSORED BY THE CITY OF UNION CITY.   IT’S OPEN EACH NIGHT FROM 5 TILL 9.   COST IS $5 PER VEHICLE…$10 FOR A 15-PASSENGER VAN AND 3D GLASSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PASSENGERS AT $2 EACH.   12/31
