7/28  THE SOUTH FULTON MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB WILL MEET ON TUESDAY AT 6PM IN THE SCHOOL LIBRARY.  ALL MEMBERS, PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS, PARENTS, COACHES, ADMINISTRATORS AND SUPPORTERS OF SOUTH FULTON ATHLETICS AND CHEERLEADERS ARE URGED TO ATTEND.

7/31  HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO UTM FOR THE “END OF SUMMER BASH” ON FRIDAY.  FESTIVITIES WILL BEGIN WITH CHECK-IN AT 1PM IN THE UNIVERSITY CENTER FOLLOWED BY A CAMPUS TOUR.   REFRESHMENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT IN THE QUAD FROM 3PM-5PM, WHERE ATTENDEES WILL BE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH  STUDENTS, REPRESENTATIVES FROM UTM AND OTHER ACADEMIC PROGRAMS.  STUDENTS CAN REGISTER FOR THIS FREE EVENT BY GOING TO UTM.EDU/SUMMERBASH OR BY CALLING 881-7020.

7/31  THE OBION COUNTY CENTRAL BAND BOOSTERS WILL HOST THEIR ANNUAL CHICKEN SUPPER, AUCTION AND PREVIEW SHOW ON FRIDAY IN THE COMMONS AREA OF OCCHS.  THE CHICKEN SUPPER AND AUCTION WILL BE FROM 5PM-7PM AND THE PREVIEW SHOW WILL BEGIN AT 7PM.  TICKETS ARE $8 AND INCLUDE CHICKEN, 2 SIDES, ROLL, DESSERT AND DRINK.  ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE OCCHS BAND PROGRAM.  YOU CAN BUY YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE BY CALLING 592-4664 OR GET THEM AT THE DOOR FRIDAY NIGHT.

7/31  REELFOOT LAKE STATE PARK INVITES EVERYONE TO ENJOY THE LAKE BY TAKING A SCENIC PONTOON BOAT TOUR.  3 HOUR CRUISES ARE OFFERED DAILY AT 9AM, 1 HOUR CRUISES ARE OFFERED ON WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AND SUNSET CRUISES ARE AVAILABLE ON SATURDAY NIGHTS AT 6PM.   GUEST ARE INVITED TO BRING SOFT DRINKS AND SNACKS TO MAKE THEIR TRIP MORE DELIGHTFUL.  TO MAKE RESERVATIONS, CALL 731-253-9652.

8/2  MASQUERADE THEATER AND THE SPOTLIGHT PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY SUMMER CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP WILL PRESENT “THE BIG BAD MUSICAL…A HOWLING COURTROOM COMEDY” AT THE CAPITOL THEATER IN DOWNTOWN UNION CITY THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT WEEKEND.  THIS PRODUCTION WIL FEATURE CHILDREN IN THE 3RD-6TH GRADE.  SHOWTIMES ARE 7:30PM ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND 2PM ON SUNDAY.  TICKETS ARE JUST $10 AND THEY’RE AVAILABLE AT THE BOX OFFICE 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO SHOWTIME.

8/2  THE PARIS-HENRY COUNTY HERITAGE CENTER IS HOSTING AN EXHIBIT ON THE WAR OF 1812 CALLED “BECOMING THE VOLUNTEER STATE:  TENNESSEE IN THE WAR OF 1812”.  THIS TRAVELING EXHIBIT WILL BE ON DISPLAY AT THE HERITAGE CENTER FROM JULY 31ST THROUGH SEPTEMBER 12TH.  THERE WILL BE A GRAND OPENING RECEPTION ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 2ND FROM 2PM-4PM.  ADMISSION AND PARKING ARE FREE OF CHARGE.

8/3  HARRELSON SCHOOL WILL HAVE A “BACK-TO-SCHOOL” NIGHT ON MONDAY, AUGUST 3RD FROM 5:30PM-6:3OPM.  CHILDREN ARE INVITED TO COME OUT WITH THEIR PARENTS TO MEET THEIR TEACHER, GET IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPCOMING YEAR AND RECEIVE AN ICE CREAM TREAT.

8/4  FRESHMAN ORIENTATION FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN AT OBION COUNTY CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE TUESDAY, AUGUST 4TH AT 6PM IN THE COMMONS AREA.  THIS EVENT IS ONLY FOR INCOMING STUDENTS AND PARENTS.  STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE THEIR SCHEDULES AND BE ABLE TO TOUR THE SCHOOL DURING THIS TIME.

8/7  THERE WILL BE A FREE BABY EXPO AT THE OBION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY ON FRIDAY, AUGUST 7TH FROM NOON-2PM.  THERE WILL BE DOOR PRIZES, SNACKS, INFORMATION AND FUN FOR MOMS, EXPECTANT MOMS…AND DADS ARE WELCOME TOO.  TO FIND OUT MORE OR TO REGISTER, CALL 885-8722

8/8  THE TENNESSEE NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE WILL HOST A FREE HUMMINGBIRD BANDING DEMONSTRATION AT THE NEW REFUGE VISITOR CENTER IN SPRINGVILLE ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 8TH FROM 9AM-3PM.  THE DEMONSTRATION WILL GIVE INTERESTING INSIGHT AND INFORMATION ABOUT THE LIVES AND HABITS OF HUMMINGBIRDS THROUGH BANDING.  THE DAY WILL ALSO INCLUDE FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY AS ARTS & CRAFTS, COLORING TABLES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN WILL OCCUR THROUGHOUT THE EVENT.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL 731-642-2091.
