3/5  THE SOUTH FULTON ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB WILL MEET ON THURSDAY NIGHT AT 6PM IN THE SCHOOL LIBRARY.  ALL MEMBERS, PARENTS, COACHES, ADMINISTRATORS AND SUPPORTERS OF SOUTH FULTON MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS ARE URGED TO ATTEND.

3/5  LIFELINE BLOOD SERVICES IS EXPERIENCING A CRITICAL NEED FOR O NEGATIVE, A NEGATIVE, B NEGATIVE AND O POSITIVE BLOOD TYPES.  RECENT WEATHER CONDITIONS HAVE FORCED MULTIPLE BLOOD DRIVE CANCELLATIONS.  TO PREVENT A SIGNIFICANT SHORTAGE, YOU ARE ASKED TO DONATE BLOOD THIS WEEK WHEN THE LIFELINE BLOOD MOBILE COMES TO HENRY COUNTY.  LIFELINE WILL BE AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FOR THEIR REGULAR MONTHLY DRIVE ON THURSDAY FROM NOON UNTIL 6PM.  HELP LIFELINE MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ENOUGH BLOOD TO SUPPLY WEST TENNESSEE HOSPITAL PATIENTS.

3/5  THE ANNUAL HORSESHOES FOR HOPE FUNDRAISER WILL BE THURSDAY, MARCH 5TH FROM 10:30AM-6PM AT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE CENTER AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN PARIS.  FOR $10, YOU GET AN OPEN-FACED HORSESHOE SANDWICH, DESSERT AND DRINK.  PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT WILL BENEFIT BOTH HOOFBEATS OF HOPE AND THE R.E.A.L. HOPE YOUTH CENTER.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL 333-1320.

3/6  THERE WILL BE A LENTEN CATFISH MEAL ON EVERY FRIDAY IN MARCH FROM 4:30PM-7PM AT HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH IN HUNTINGDON.  THE MENU INCLUDES CATFISH, HUSH PUPPIES, COLE SLAW, WHITE BEANS, FRIES, DRINKS AND DESSERT.  IT’S $8.50 FOR ADULTS AND $4 FOR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 8.  CARRY-OUT WILL BE AVAILABLE.  PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARDS THE UPKEEP OF THE CHURCH.

3/7  THE DIXIE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN HUNTINGDON WILL HOST “MOTOWN IN MOTION” ON SATURDAY NIGHT STARTING AT 7:3OPM.  THE EISENHOWER DANCE TROUPE WILL PRESENT A VISUAL SALUTE TO THE MUSIC THAT MADE MOTOWN RECORDS FAMOUS.  TICKETS ARE $15.

3/7  THERE WILL BE A “BREAKFAST FOR BABIES” FUNDRAISER AT ANN & DAVE’S KITCHEN ON EAST WOOD STREET IN PARIS SATURDAY MORNING FROM 6AM-11AM.  LOCAL CELEBRITY WAITERS AND WAITRESSES WILL BE WORKING HARD TO EARN TIPS TO BENEFIT MARCH OF DIMES.

3/7  DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME RETURNS THIS WEEKEND.  BEFORE YOU GO TO BED ON SATURDAY NIGHT, SET YOUR CLOCKS AHEAD BY ONE HOUR.  ALSO, CHANGE OUT THE BATTERIES IN YOUR SMOKE DETECTORS.

3/7  SIGN-UPS FOR ALL T-BALL AND BASEBALL PLAYERS AGES 4-15 WILL BE SATURDAY, MARCH 7TH FROM 8AM-NOON AT THE PARIS CIVIC CENTER.

3/7  AMERICAN LEGION POST 72 WILL HOLD A PANCAKE BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY, MARCH 7TH FROM 6AM-11AM AT ST. EDWARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH ON EDDINGS STREET IN FULTON, KY.  IT’S ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKES FOR JUST $5.  PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT KENTUCKY AND TENNESSEE BOYS’ AND GIRL’S STATE PROGRAMS.

3/8  CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH ON REELFOOT AVENUE IN UNION CITY WILL WELCOME ERNIE HAASE & SIGNATURE SOUND ON SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH AT 6PM.  THERE IS NO ADMISSION CHARGE BUT A LOVE OFFERING WILL BE RECEIVED.

3/10  PROGRESSIVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH IN MARTIN WILL HOST THEIR ANNUAL “FAMILY AND FRIENDS 3 NIGHT CELEBRATION” ON SUNDAY, MARCH 8TH AT 6PM AND MONDAY, MARCH 9TH & TUESDAY, MARCH 10TH AT 7PM.  DR. RON WEBB FROM MOUNT CALVARY POWERHOUSE CHURCH IN POPLAR BLUFF, MISSOURI WILL BE THE GUEST SPEAKER.  EVERYONE IS WELCOMED.

3/12  UNION CITY SCHOOLS WILL HAVE PRE-REGISTRATION FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR FOR KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-K PROGRAMS ON THURSDAY, MARCH 12TH FROM 9AM-6PM AT UNION CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON SOUTH MILES AVENUE.  CHILDREN WHO WILL BE 5 YEARS OLD ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 15TH ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND KINDERGARTEN NEXT YEAR.  CHILDREN WHO WILL BE 4 YEARS OLD ON OR BEFORE AUGUST 15TH ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND PRE-K.  IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORE INFORMATION, CALL THE SCHOOL OFFICE AT 885-1632

3/13  HENRY COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE WILL HOST THEIR ANNUAL “RUNWAY FOR A CURE” FASHION SHOW AND SILENT AUCTION EVENT ON FRIDAY, MARCH 13TH AT 6PM AT THE KRIDER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER IN PARIS.  THE EVENT PREVIEWS THE LATEST SPRING FASHIONS FROM AREA BOUTIQUES AS WELL AS SEVERAL LOCAL CELEBRITIES AS MODELS.  TICKETS ARE $10 EACH AND CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR.  PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT HENRY COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE.

3/17  THE ANNUAL ST. PATTY’S DAY LUNCHEON FUNDRAISER WILL BE FROM 11AM-1PM ON TUESDAY, MARCH 17TH AT THE FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN DOWNTOWN PARIS.  THE MENU INCLUDES AN IRISH BAKED POTATO BAR, “SHAMROCK” GREEN SALAD AND “LEPRECHAUN” DESSERTS AND DRINKS.  IT IS A $10 DONATION.  YOU CAN DINE IN OR CARRY OUT.  PROCEEDS WILL BENEFIT LOCAL MISSIONS.

3/17  THE CITY OF MARTIN WILL HAVE THEIR 4TH ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE ON TUESDAY, MARCH 17TH STARTING AT 6PM.  ORGANIZERS ARE INVITING EVERYONE TO JOIN THE FUN-FILLED FAMILY EVENT.  THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE TO PARTICIPATE.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL 731-431-8156.

3/17  THE GLEASON CLINIC WILL HOST “GIRL TALK” CLASS FOR 4 NIGHTS IN MARCH.  MARCH 17TH IS FOR MOTHERS ONLY TO ATTEND.  MARCH 19TH, 24TH AND 26TH IS FOR BOTH MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS.  TO REGISTER FOR THE CLASS CALL 648-5634.

3/21  THE HOUSTON COUNTY FAIR BOARD WILL SPONSOR A NO-WELD DEMOLITION DERBY ON SATURDAY, MARCH 21ST AT 3PM IN DOWNTOWN ERIN, AS A PART OF THE ANNUAL IRISH DAY CELEBRATION.  ADMISSION IS $10 AND KIDS UNDER FIVE ARE ADMITTED FREE.  CALL 931-721-6453 TO FIND OUT MORE.

3/28  THE PURYEAR BOY SCOUT TROOP 226 WILL HOST A PANCAKE BREAKFAST ON SATURDAY, MARCH 28TH FROM 7AM-11AM AT THE FAMILY LIFE CENTER AT PURYEAR BAPTIST CHURCH.  THE BREAKFAST IS A SUGGESTED DONATION FOR $7 FOR ADULTS AND $3 FOR CHILDREN UNDER 5.  PROCEEDS WILL HELP SUPPORT THE BOY SCOUTS.

4/11  THE STEWART COUNTY HEALTH COUNCIL WILL HOST THE FIRST EVER “MARATHON IN A MONTH” KICK-OFF AT THE STEWART COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL SMART COURSE ON SATURDAY, APRIL 11TH.  THIS PROGRAM IS A WAY TO GET PEOPLE MOVING AND MOTIVATE CITIZENS TO LIVE A HEALTHIER, MORE PRODUCTIVE LIFESTYLE.  EACH PERSON HAS UNTIL MAY 11TH TO COMPLETE 26.2 MILES.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL 232-5351.
