4/17  FRIENDS OF THE WG RHEA PUBLIC LIBRARY PRESENT “JAZZ UP YOUR LIBRARY” ON THURSDAY, APRIL 17TH IN THE ENOCH BUILDING AT THE HENRY COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS.  CINDY’S CATERING WILL SERVE DINNER AT STARTING AT 5:30PM.  THE HENRY COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND WILL ENTERTAIN DURING DINNER.  THE ANNUAL FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE WILL FOLLOW DINNER.  TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE LIBRARY, FRIENDS’ BOOKSTORE OR PICK THEM UP FROM ANY FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY MEMBER.  THE BOOK SALE WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON FRIDAY, APRIL 18TH FROM 9AM-2PM.

4/17  THERE WILL BE A JOB-FAIR SPONSORED BY GOODWILL CAREER SOLUTIONS AT CITY HALL IN FULTON, KY WITH HAMILTON-RYKER ON THURSDAY FROM 9AM TO 1PM.  THEY’LL HAVE MULTIPLE POSITIONS FOR PRODUCTION, ASSEMBLY, WELDERS AND FORKLIFT OPERATORS.

4/17  THE LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA ADVISORY BOARD WILL HOST ITS NEXT MEETING ON THURSDAY AT LAKE BARKLEY STATE RESORT PARK.  THE MEETING, WHICH IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, WILL BEGIN AT 9AM AND INCLUDE DISCUSSIONS ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION.

4/19  DISCOVERY PARK OF AMERICA WILL HOST THEIR FIRST EVERY “EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA” ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.  THE GIANT EASTER EGG HUNT IS FREE FOR MEMBERS AND ANYONE ELSE WITH A PAID ADMISSION.  THE EVENT BEGINS AT 1PM WITH 5 HUNTS IN SEVERAL AGE CATEGORIES.  NO REGISTRATION IS NEEDED, BUT CHILDREN DO NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN BASKETS.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL DPA AT 731-885-5455

4/19  SATURDAY IS A FREE DUMP DAY AT THE PARIS-HENRY COUNTY LANDFILL FROM 7AM-3:30PM.  BRUSH, DEMOLITION DEBRIS AND YARD TRIMMINGS MUST BE SEPARATED FROM SOLID WASTE.  NO CONSTRUCTION WASTE OR HOUSEHOLD GARAGE WILL BE RECEIVED.  TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL THE LANDFILL AT 644-1737

4/20  THE BEECH C.P. CHURCH ON CHAPEL ROAD IN UNION CITY WILL CELEBRATE EASTER WITH AN EARLY WORSHIP SERVICE AT 8AM ON SUNDAY.  A COUNTRY BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED AT 9AM FOLLOWED BY AN EASTER EGG HUNT WITH THE EASTER BUNNY.  SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL BE AT 10AM WITH WORSHIP AND COMMUNION AT 11AM.  EVERYONE IS INVITED TO ATTEND.

4/22  THE ROOTS OF RHYTHM, A UT-MARTIN WORLD PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE, WILL PERFORM AT STEWART COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL ON TUESDAY STARTING AT 3PM.  THE CONCERT WILL GIVE LISTENERS A CHANCE TO LEARN ABOUT WORLD GEOGRAPHY, WORLD HISTORY AND AUTHENTIC WORLD PERCUSSION BY EXPLORING THE MIGRATION OF RHYTHM THROUGHOUT HISTORY AS TAKEN BY AFRICAN NATIONS ACROSS THE GLOBE THROUGH SLAVE TRADE.    TO FIND OUT MORE, CALL UTM AT 731-881-7617

4/22  THERE WILL BE ANOTHER RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC ON TUESDAY BY THE REELFOOT ANIMAL HOSPITAL.  THEY WILL BE AT THE OLD LATTUS GROCERY IN WOODLAND MILLS AT 2:30PM, OLD FREEMAN’S GROCERY IN FREEMONT AT 2:55PM AND THE OLD HORNBEAK SCHOOL SITE AT 3:30PM.  THE FEE FOR ONE YEAR PROTECTION IS $7.

4/26  THERE WILL BE A BENEFIT FOR LYNN GILLIAM, WHO WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH METASTATIC MELANOMA, ON SATURDAY, APRIL 26TH FROM 4PM-7PM AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH FAMILY LIFE CENTER IN MCKENZIE. THEY’LL HAVE BBQ PLATES FOR $8, SILENT & LIVE AUCTIONS, FACE PAINTING AND BOUNCE HOUSES FOR THE KIDS.  PROCEEDS WILL HELP OFFSET LYNN’S TRAVEL AND MEDICAL EXPENSES WHILE HE UNDERGOES TREATMENTS IN HOUSTON.

4/26  THE OWEN FAMILY WILL BE AT MARLBORO BAPTIST CHURCH ON HIGHWAY 114 IN VALE, TN FOR A GOSPEL SINGING ON SATURDAY, APRIL 26TH STARTING AT 7PM.  IT’S FREE ADMISSION AND EVERYONE IS WELCOME.

5/3  SULLIVAN DENTISTRY AND ADVANCED GASTROENTEROLOGY ARE HOSTING A “COLOR FOR A CURE 5K COLOR RUN” ON SATURDAY, MAY 3RD AT UNION CITY HIGH SCHOOL.  REGISTRATION STARTS AT 7:45AM WITH THE RACE TO BEGIN AT 8:30AM.  IF YOU REGISTER BY SATURDAY, APRIL 26TH, IT’S ONLY $15, OTHERWISE IT WILL BE $20 ON RACE DAY.  ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE OBION COUNTY HOMETOWN WALK OF HOPE.

5/4  THE PARENT ACTION COMMITTEE OF INMAN SCHOOL WILL HOLD THEIR 1ST ANNUAL FOUR-PERSON SCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNAMENT AT THE PARIS COUNTRY CLUB ON SATURDAY, MAY 3RD.  REGISTRATION STARTS AT 7:30AM WITH A SHOTGUN START AT 8AM.  THEY’LL HAVE FREE GIFT BAGS, DOOR PRIZES AND A CHANCE TO WIN A CAR FROM JOE MAHAN FORD IF YOU HIT A HOLE-IN-ONE ON HOLE NUMBER 4.  THE COST FOR A TEAM OF FOUR IS $240 AND THE DEADLINE TO ENTER IS FRIDAY, APRIL 25TH.  TO FIND OUT MORE OR TO GET REGISTERED, CALL 731-499-2929.

NO LATEX PAINT WILL BE ACCEPTED, BUT YOU CAN BRING GASOLINE, OIL, PESTICIDES, FERTILIZER, POOL CHEMICALS, MEDICINES, FLUORESCENT BULBS 7 TUBES AND OTHER HARMFUL WASTES.
